The book that we were discussing was Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
We actually didn't talk much about the book, but that isn't too surprising:) Alec brought over a copy of the pilot of his show called "The Swag Bag." We all watched it and thought that it was GREAT! We really hope that it gets picked up and that he will let all of us be in the audience to get some swag!
Denise showed us a picture of herself in Japan with a statue of the dog that would wait for his master at the train station (this was in the book at some point).
Rhonda and I mentioned that the author said that he will be writing a trilogy and his next book will be about the grandfather who starts the Sawtelle dog business.
We all agreed that the book was a very good read, but I think that we were all too interested in talking about other things so we didn't discuss the book much. Denise did make a good effort at trying to focus our discussions on the book!
We decided that our next book club will meet in April and on a weekend. We hope that some of our members will be able to make this meeting since it won't be during the week. Once Rhonda has a date she will post it.
The next book that we will be reading is Food Matters by Mark Bittman (click on the link to the left for more information on the book). If you have extra time and would like to read another book we had a couple of suggestions. Jodi Picoult's new novel. Valesca can you please tell us which book this is? She gave it rave reviews, but since some of us are skeptical of Jodi Picoult's books being very similar to the rest of them there is also The Ghost In Love by Jonathan Carroll.
